Villino Montanelli

2019 - 2021 - Via Giuseppe Montanelli, 5, Rome

Starring as the film set in the 2019 movie by Nanni Moretti “Three Floors”, located in the prestigious Prati district and overlooking the Tiber River, the project building presents the typical features of the so-called “Roman Baroque”, characterized by floral decorative elements, stuccoes, and classical-style pilasters. Medieval style references are elegantly blended with Art Nouveau elements and decorations.

Acting in full respect of the essence and heritage of the building in its most significant historical elements, starting from the magnificent façades through to the monumental indoor staircase, GLA’s intervention allowed to safeguard the aesthetic beauty of the building and, at the same time, make it suitable for and capable of accommodating more than 2,500 students per year. With the creation of 12 new classrooms, a library, various ancillary spaces, and the renovation of the open spaces around the site, the new campus aims to be welcoming and open to the world, presenting itself as a hub equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and spaces devoted to both studying and socializing, with an eye to the future.
